Old Tin Measuring Cups Turned Christmas Decor

Are there certain items that you always tend to purchase when you find them at a really good price?
Even if you don't need them or know what you are going to do with them?

Aluminum measuring cups are one of those things that I always grab when I see them.
I don't even know why, except that I like them.

This is an image I pinned to remind me to pull out my measuring cups at Christmas time this year.

SOURCE

I dug out my measuring cups...

...and decided to adorn them just a little

I cut and glued a strip of burlap around each one

then glued a strip of red ticking fabric over the burlap

then using a freezer paper image transfer method, detailed here,
I designed three words in PicMonkey and printed them onto duck cloth,
cut the words out and glued them to the ticking fabric.

and added a little Christmas tree

They are also the perfect size for votive candles

The measuring cups have just the perfect amount of holiday love now.

Don't you think so?

'til next time,

  1. Really cute! They'd be adorable with the little trees in them too -- and it looks like you may have no shortage of those. :)
