Valentines Day XO Hugs & Kisses Pillow Covers

Just before Thanksgiving I made pillow covers from ticking fabric. I added vintage images to the front of these pillows by printing the images onto creamy white duckcloth fabric.   They turned out really cute, you can check them out here.   I also made 4 solid pillow covers out of the creamy white duckcloth fabric  to coordinate with the ticking pillows.   Today I decided to turn two of those solid pillow covers into Valentines Day pillows.    

 

Using the same red coduroy fabric that I used on my Valentines wreath,

I cut out a large X and O.

(I cut 8"x10" pieces of coduroy and drew the outline of the X & O freehand)

 

    Next I centered them on top of the pillow covers and pinned them in place before sewing them on. I used white thread because I thought it would add a little character.  

 

  The O pillow cover can actually be used beyond Valentines day  if you are an Ohio Buckeyes fan.   My husband is a Penn State Alumni and he doesn't like it.   Oh well, they still make a cute pair for Valentines Day.
