Wood Christmas Sled Mini Makeover

After a wonderful visit at my moms last week,
I came home with a truck load of goodies

This wood and metal sled was one of them!

It's definitely cute, but I decided to give it a mini makeover.

Spice Rack Paint Storage Mini Makeover

While laying in bed one night, an idea hit me. Does that happen to anyone else? I think I need to keep a notepad next to my bed. I'll have a great idea then fall asleep and when I wake up, all that I can remember is that I had a great idea, but do not remember what it was. Anyways, I remembered this one.

I "upcycled" an old spice rack by painting it white and hanging it in my shop to hold my small bottles of acrylic paints. It's size works perfectly!

Here's an updated pic of the outside of my shop, that my husband and I built this past fall and winter. It looks a little different now then when were building the greenhouse boxes on the back.

Spice racks always seem to pop up at thrift stores or yard sales for pennies. Have you used an old spice rack for something other than holding spices. I'd love to hear about your ideas, because I have a few stored away still.

Have a great day!

'til next time,
Adina

Large Fork & Spoon Wall Art

Mini Monday Makeover

How fun are these, oversized fork and spoon kitchen wall art!

I picked them up at a garage sale for .50 last Friday. They were old and very dirty, but I liked something about them. I brought them home, cleaned them up, sanded through a layer of blue paint, next a layer of yellow paint and then primed and painted them black.

Little did I know, when I gave them a makeover last Monday, that they were Pottery Barn mini knock offs! I was just browsing through the online catalog today and ran across these. (I guess my garage sale taste isn't so bad after all)

Funny how my vintage version is almost identical, except for the size. PB fork and spoon measure 48.5" long and mine are 20" long. They both are metal, have simple lines and even the handles have similar details.

Maybe you've got a set packed away somewhere that could use a makeover?
